The Shaad Indian Restaurant and Takeaway

Submitted by djwadmin on Sun, 08/07/2007 - 09:04.

The Shaad opened at the beginning of May 2007. It is located above the newly refurbished Crown and Anchor Pub in Weston High Street opposite the Chemists.

It has its own entrance to the street, and once you have climbed the stairs you are presented with an elegant well presented dining room, complete with candles and table linens.

Service is quick and attentive, without being too intrusive. You can bring you own drinks and there is no corkage charge, though we made use of the very convenient pub downstairs.

The menu is fairly standard, with the usual Tandoori, Balti, Biriany, etc. dishes, though there are a number of Shaad Specials, such as Tatula, Kushboo, and Duck Tarkari that I dont remember seeing elsewhere. The food we sampled was excellent, and good value for money. The menu does not seem to be any more expensive than any of the the other local Indian Restaurants.

The only niggle was the number of take-away customers passing our table, though this was indicative of how popular Shaad has become despite being open for less than two weeks when we visited.
